The project will future-proof Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai - Lower Hutt, enabling it to mature and modernise. Efficiencies and ease of transport will make it easier for people to come in and out of the city, encouraging them to stay, socialise, live and work - making it great for business.

The east-west connections to the river will make Te Awa Kairangi - Hutt River feel more integrated and part of the city. It will help us meet our commitments around climate change, sustainability, and flood protection.
