What environmental effects will the flood protection work cause?

The nature of the work will have environmental effects during construction, but it is intended that most of the effects will be mitigated following construction and progressively with establishment of the vegetative and landscape components of the work and re-establishment of the river and berm ecosystems. This will all be carefully managed through a robust set of proposed conditions and management plans.
